Employment Support Officer (2 yr Fixed Term Contract)

Greenwich Local Labour and Business (GLLaB) is the Council’s Employment and Job Brokerage Service and is now recruiting to a range of roles, to deliver an exciting new project called Restart

Restart is a government scheme which aims to give Universal Credit claimants who have been out of work for at least 12 months enhanced support to find jobs in their local area.  GLLaB will be working at the forefront of this scheme for the residents of Royal Greenwich.

Restart is a time limited project and dependent on income generated from external funding, on a Payment by Results model. The programme will help unemployed individuals to get back into sustainable work, through job outcome focused support, tailored to the individuals’ needs.

The Employment Support Officer role is key to supporting unemployed residents to progress into work through effective caseload management and relevant interventions to aid progression into work.

We are looking for candidates that can work within target driven environment, with a customer centered focus and commitment to supporting people into work. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, resourceful and able to build good relationships with customers and partners.

We are looking for people to deliver a high-quality service to residents through the effective delivery of GLLaB’s externally funded programmes. We are recruiting for multiple roles for a newly created team delivering the DWP funded ‘Restart’ programme, as part of the national “Plan for Jobs”, commencing in June 2021 to 2024/25, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and impact on the labour market.
