Job Details

The successful candidate for this role will lead and manage marketing projects and campaigns supporting our extensively refurbished Museum, our cultural events and weddings, events and commercial opportunities at Hylands Estate.

Although a predominantly B2C role, there will be some B2B activity for Hylands. This role covers both commercial, income generating targets, as well as community and audience development objectives.  You will be responsible for developing, managing and coordinating marketing plans and budgets; and will need to be able to effectively analyse, react, respond and adapt to specific issues and opportunities as and when they arise to maximise income and attendance.

The role requires experience of strategic marketing campaign planning and delivery; working with external design and print agencies; segmentation and trend analysis of data; and the ability to create positive, constructive working relationships with other teams. The role will work alongside the digital marketing team to help meet our broader marketing objectives. Previous experience working in marketing within the Museum, Heritage and/or Cultural Sector or in an agency environment with those account areas would be advantageous.

The Council is operating flexible working arrangements and there will be the opportunity to work both from our Civic and service based offices, as well as from home. You will be required to work 37 hours per week with a flexible working pattern to fit business needs and work-life balance.

Chelmsford City Council is committed to safeguarding vulnerable groups and expects all employees to share this commitment and have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services. The Council's Safer Recruitment process contains pre-employment vetting which includes safeguarding training, obtaining references and ensuring compliance with the Disclosure and Barring Service process.
