Policy and Guidance Officers
Royal Greenwich is proud to be a borough synonymous with first class modern services. A world heritage site, our communities are vibrant and diverse, and we pride ourselves on being a well-managed and well-run authority.
We have also recently published our first digital strategy. To make that strategy into a reality, we need to hire a new digital, data and technology team to join our existing skill set.
Our new digital strategy demonstrates the need for modern technology support which is both data and user-focused. A large part of this strategy is helping our staff understand how to use technology safely and protect them and the organisation from risk. To achieve this, we are building a Policy and Guidance team.
Your responsibilities as Policy and Guidance Officer will include the design, research, preparation and dissemination of guidance and policies for staff on how to use new technologies. You'll advise on various issues, develop advice and guidance for specific tools and circumstances, and make sure that all documents and guidance that we're developing is well-understood and embedded.
You will work with the wider team to establish and maintain an evolving 'modern digital culture' within Royal Greenwich, enabling us to deliver important technology services to support both staff and our local residents. As you develop new tools to help guide staff, you will become a champion for these and promote the positive culture of your team, making sure that you can offer a great customer experience.
This is a great role in a vibrant and growing team; we're looking for people who have some experience in a policy, guidance or similar role. In return, we offer a range of benefits which include:
- Annual Season Ticket Loan
- Childcare Voucher Scheme
- Learning and development opportunities to maximise your potential, including excellent apprenticeship opportunities at all levels
- Reduced rate Gym Membership
- Eyecare Vouchers
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Long Service Awards
- Generous Annual Leave entitlement and
- Excellent Pension Scheme
- GreenwichCard which entitles you to discounts at local businesses
- Employee Assistance Scheme including external counselling service
- A range of flexible working arrangements
- Staff networks
At the moment, the role will be 100% remote working. As the covid pandemic abates, we would like you to work partly from the office and partly from home.
