As the largest economy in the Thames Estuary outside of London, we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved but we are never complacent. We are driving inclusive, sustainable growth to provide opportunity and prosperity for local people and businesses, access to quality homes, vibrant town centres and an enhanced local environment.

The Council's ambitious corporate programme for 2021/2022 has been reviewed and reset. The corporate programme brings together the priority activity to drive the Council's change and transformation ambitions outside of usual service delivery.

Basildon has an ambitious programme to make lasting improvements for its residents. We know that making the best use of our buildings, technology, processes and of course staff is the key to creating excellent customer experiences. We have the strategy, resources, technical expertise all in place. Come and join us to bring your programme skills to the co-ordination of this exciting role.

The organisation strategy describes a vision of Basildon 5 years into the future, including the roll out of new data infrastructure, hardware and systems; a new workforce plan; and a series of service design reviews. The strategy has support from all major stakeholders and is resourced. This new role forms part of the investment Basildon Council is making in the delivery of the strategy.

To ensure we are successful in the delivery of this exciting and ambitious programme, we are seeking a dedicated Senior Project Manager to work alongside our PMO to manage the delivery of this complex strategy and the workstreams that underpin it.

You will be an experienced project manager with a demonstrable track record in managing the delivery of complex cross organisational programmes of work. You will build effective relationships with key stakeholders and importantly workstream leads, to ensure that the programme stays on track and meets all deliverable milestones. You will use your extensive experience to understand both the high-level outcomes and the detail of the project and will be responsible for reporting against programme progress to Council senior leaders.

You will be able to identify risks and work with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate mitigation is in place, as well as driving decision making and ensuring clear accountability throughout the programme and that actions are met, and milestone achieved. You will own and maintain all associated project documentation to a high standard to ensure visibility of progress against the required activities.

If you would like to be part of Basildon's success, we look forward to receiving your application. Your covering letter should address the areas in the job specification, and exemplify your track record in enabling similarly complex change programmes, realisation of benefits, co-ordination of interdependencies and stakeholder engagement.
