Occupational Therapist - Countywide Enhanced Support In Reach

Permanent, Full Time

£32,065 - £43,839 per annum

Location: Travel will be Essex Countywide - Office base to be negotiated

Closing Date: 10th June 2021

The role is an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting adults with a learning disability and/or autism, with additional needs, e.g. mental health who may be in secure hospital settings, residential or supported living placements.

The role requires the successful applicant to be prepared to travel across the county of Essex.

The Occupational Therapist will focus on occupation, activity, choice and control, and use a strengths-based approach and community assets to achieve the person's goals and aspirations.

The post will particularly suit a motivated, enthusiastic and person-centred Occupational Therapist, who, alongside case management duties, will spend the majority of their time in performing OT specific assessments and interventions.

About Us

With us, you can achieve more - for yourself as well as the vulnerable adults you work to support. We're always looking for new ways to deliver even better services. Occupational Therapists are recognised as playing an integral role in our approach to delivering person-centred outcomes in social care.

In addition to working alongside other professionals, you will have access to OT peer support networks, clinical supervision from a Senior Occupational Therapist and a range of development opportunities to enhance your own professional development.

We encourage our multi-disciplinary teams to share their ideas and experience. We work together to get things done.

Bring your positive, proactive attitude, and we'll empower you to make the most of your experience as an Occupational Therapist within Essex County Council (ECC) Adult Social Care services.

About You

To apply, you'll need a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy, or equivalent qualification, with current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration, with experience of working in a Social Care or Health setting ideally working to support vulnerable adults. This should include the ability to work with a complex caseload underpinned by evidence-based practice.

As previously stated, this role involves travelling around Essex. A driving licence and car - or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means - is essential.

All candidates applying to Adult Social Care will be expected to join on a 12-week rota on a 6-day shift pattern and this will include some weekend work (normally 1 Saturday from 6).

What we offer in return

We'll support you to be to your best, with the resources, training and development to empower you. You can add to your expertise, with a range of opportunities offered by our award-winning Essex Social Care Academy. And, with flexible working options and other lifestyle benefits, we'll enable you to make the most of your life outside work, too.

Whatever you want to achieve in your social care career, you can do it here.
