Royal Greenwich is proud to be a borough synonymous with first class modern services. A world heritage site, our communities are vibrant and diverse, and we pride ourselves on being a well-managed and well-run authority.
We have also recently published our first digital strategy. To make that strategy into a reality, we need to hire a new digital, data and technology team to join our existing skill set.
As Security Architect for the council, you will play a key role in designing our council-wide security architecture. The cyber security of the council has significant impacts on the ability for staff to carry out their jobs, as well as for the residents in the borough who use our services. This role has significant responsibility for the organisation’s safety and as such you should already have expert knowledge and understanding of security and system architectures.
Using a deep knowledge of modern technology security practices, you will support the whole council to build modern technology services which are secure but maintain the highest levels of accessibility. As a leader in this service, you will work in partnership with services to make decisions about their security design; using your ability to influence and collaborate to improve technologies.
As the spokesperson for security within the council, you will articulate the value of security architecture across the council, engaging with stakeholders at all levels to ensure a robust and collective approach.
We actively encourage applications from under-represented groups and from people who need some flexibility in their role due to parenting or caring arrangements. At the moment, the role will be 100% remote working. As the covid pandemic abates, we would like you to work partly from the office and partly from home.
This is a great role in a vibrant and growing team. In return, we offer a range of benefits which include:
- Annual Season Ticket Loan
- Childcare Voucher Scheme
- Learning and development opportunities to maximise your potential, including excellent apprenticeship opportunities at all levels
- Reduced rate Gym Membership
- Eyecare Vouchers
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Long Service Awards
- Generous Annual Leave entitlement and
- Excellent Pension Scheme
- GreenwichCard which entitles you to discounts at local businesses
- Employee Assistance Scheme including external counselling service
- A range of flexible working arrangements
- Staff networks
