Job Details

Do you want to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of your community?

We are looking for passionate and driven people to join our Health Improvement Team. In March this year the Government announced new funding to help people achieve a healthier weight so we are now able to recruit six new Healthy Lifestyle Advisors to join our existing team on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2022.

As a Healthy Lifestyle Advisor you will promote and encourage people living in Telford and Wrekin to make improvements to their lifestyle with a focus on achieving a healthier weight. The role is ideally suited to people with strong communication skills and those who are confident in delivering one to one lifestyle advice to individuals including carrying out initial assessments and brief interventions using proven behaviour change techniques. You will have a varied case load and will be required to provide support virtually and face to face. You will be IT literate and able to confidently use online methods of communication. The role is community based with some home working so you will need to be able to travel independently across the Telford and Wrekin area. The role will include some evening and weekend work.

Full training will be provided along with a programme of continued professional development.

The post will be subject to an enhanced DBS clearance.

For further information on the role please click on the links below to view the job description and person specification.

We are committed to equality and diversity. Posts working with children or vulnerable groups will be subject to an appropriate criminal records check.

Sorry but CVs will not be accepted.
