About Us:

Matching children with permanent foster families across three London Boroughs

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. By sharing facilities and expertise with Westminster City Council and Hammersmith & Fulham Council, we’re able to offer joined-up services for children and their families that are constantly evolving and improving. In our most recent Ofsted inspection, we were judged as outstanding in all areas.

The Role:

Joining our 3 Borough Shared Fostering and Permanence team, you’ll seek permanent high-quality placements for looked after children. You’ll work closely with colleagues in the Fostering Recruitment Team, Fostering Support Team and children’s social workers to offer specialist in-house expertise in family finding and matching. It’s an opportunity to get to know individual children and identify carers that can meet their long-term needs. You’ll use a range of tools and techniques to develop children’s profiles and to promote them to potential families, ensuring you reflect the voice of the child.  You will also take an active role in support planning, including contact arrangements.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information

About You:

This is a highly rewarding role within a small team working fairly regular hours (although some meetings may occur outside normal hours). It would suit a qualified and registered social worker with experience of working with families, in particular with looked after children. You’ll have a background in complex casework, including risk management and safeguarding, supported by good knowledge of child development and permanence planning. You must also be able to manage and prioritise a complex workload.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s will not be considered for this role.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of suitable applicants
