About You

You will have a degree or Master's in Social Care and be looking to start a career dealing within Children and Families. You'll bring a positive attitude and willingness to learn and a passion to help others.

The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wider operational area including travelling around the county of Essex and beyond, potentially transporting service users and their belongings in an emergency. As such a driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means is essential.

What we offer in return

For the first 12 months you will be part of a pop team within the Family Support and Protection service, focusing on the Covid 19 Equalisation process as you also complete your ASYE before then moving onto a career within one of the many services within the Children and Families function https://www.workingforessex.com/role/children-families/ with a post ASYE salary of £32,065 per annum and the opportunity to see your earning progress as the level of your practice increases to £43,839 per annum under our Social Worker skills and capability framework.

As part of employment with Essex County Council (ECC) should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.
