Assistant Director of Housing Operations

Employer
Manchester City Council
Location
Greater Manchester
Salary
Up to £89k
Closing date
26 Jul 2021

Welcome to Manchester: a global city that is renowned for its diversity, creativity and strong sense of identity. Our vision is of a thriving Manchester for all our people and businesses, where everyone has access to a high quality, safe and secure home.

Following an overwhelming endorsement by 92% of residents, Northwards’ 13,000 properties will return to direct City Council management in July 2021 and as Assistant Director of Housing Operations you can play a lead role in ensuring a successful transition. It’s an ideal opportunity to create better connections between local provision and the city-wide strategic context, and to establish the high quality housing service that our residents deserve.

Service improvement and customer satisfaction will be the defining metrics for this role. The need for improvement is acknowledged, so this is your chance to demonstrate your skills at service turnaround in one of England’s leading councils.

You’ll oversee capital programme delivery, pursue significant service improvement, work closely with tenants to build better, safer, more productive communities and embed a positive, high-performing and modernised culture within Housing Operations.

You’ll be a versatile and highly capable housing management professional – who has achieved much in your career to date, and who is ready to do more. You’ll be passionate about the outcomes you can achieve for residents and be committed to using customer engagement to inform and evaluate your work. You’ll have proven credentials in leading service improvement, most likely within an inner city setting, and you should be accustomed to working closely with community stakeholders and advocates. You’ll be able to bring a clarity of purpose and direction to our work, ensuring a sharp focus on what matters to our customers and an astute appreciation of how to translate strategic objectives in to action on the ground.

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer and we positively welcome applications from all candidates regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
