Greenwich is a great place to work. A London borough of culture and diversity, Greenwich hosts the O2 arena, the Royal Park, the Royal Observatory, the Cutty Sark and the Royal Naval College. It is a place with significant social, economic and health inequalities and the council and its partners are determined to address these as strategic priorities for the borough.

The Public Health Department of the Royal Borough is seeking to appoint an experienced, senior public health professional to provide leadership to a range of critical public health and directorate-wide functions. You will provide strategic oversight and management for teams working on health-in-all-policies, health improvement, health intelligence, performance and strategy, and will take a professional lead role on public mental health and well-being.

The Public Health department is at the heart of the council’s business. It is a well-established team, with strong links across council departments, integrated commissioning arrangements with the NHS and excellent partnerships with the community and voluntary sectors in the Borough. We also work as part of the London and the South-East London public health systems and undertake a range of work across borough boundaries and across the Capital.

If you are looking for your next challenge and an opportunity to be part of the senior leadership team of a vibrant and forward-thinking team, we’d love to hear from you.

Candidates must be registered public health specialists on the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List/UK Public Health Register (UKPHR).

Royal Borough of Greenwich values the diversity of its community and aims to have a workforce that reflects this. We therefore encourage applications from all sections of the community.
