About Us:

Put safety at the heart of every decision.

At Kensington and Chelsea, we are determined to create a great quality of life for our residents. From high quality housing to initiatives that help residents back into employment, we are committed to delivering cost-effective solutions that are highly efficient. Join our forward-thinking Resident Safety Team within Property Services, and you will be central to this ambition. With a focus on delivering a highly proficient technical service, you will find a progressive working environment in which your ideas are listened to and actioned.

The Role:

Against the backdrop of a sector in which regulations change rapidly, you will be responsible for lift service contract management and surveying duties relating to planned preventative maintenance programmes and response repairs. Seeing to it that every lift is fit for purpose, you will handle a full array of duties ranging from the production of tender documents through to determining the quality of contracted services. Through the analysis of lift performance data, you will identify any shortcomings in the maintenance regime, and you will make recommendations on properties that need investment. Working in partnership with health and safety colleagues, you will report on major service failures, intermittent breakdowns, protracted repairs and incidents, and you will champion the use of new technology. With the support of a friendly and caring team who bring exceptional technical expertise to their work, this is a chance to further your career in a high-profile local authority.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

We enjoy working in a dynamic environment in which everyone is challenged to push themselves even further. You will therefore thrive with us if you share our commitment to working hard, doing the right thing, and making a difference to our locality’s residents. As you will be working in communal areas, you will have great communication skills, with the capacity to reassure residents and monitor the quality of contractors’ work. With an NVQ Level 3-4 Lift Engineering qualification, you will have significant experience of managing the repair and maintenance of passenger lifts, with an expert knowledge of lift installations, safety regimes and industry standards.  With a background in investigating incidents and managing the diagnostic process for lift breakdowns and intermittent faults, you will have previously managed contractors and consultants, and you will be well versed in all relevant legislation and standards.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.
