Are you passionate about active travel with a particular interest in cycling? If so this is your opportunity to be at the forefront of active travel delivery in Telford & Wrekin.

In this dynamic role there will be a focus to promote and deliver various active travel initiatives, including but not limited to, Bikeability, Learn to Ride training and cycle maintenance workshops. The successful candidate will have experience in working with both groups and with people on a 1:1 basis. The role will involve both school based and community based training. There will also be the need to support delivery after school and will involve some weekend working.

It is essential that you are a cyclist and have experience in working positively with children and adults. Knowledge of basic bike mechanics is an advantage. You must either be a National Standard Accredited Bikeability Cycle Instructor or willing to work towards this accreditation (training will be provided).  

Applicants will need to have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to relate these skills to children and adults. You will need the ability to solve problems positively and appropriately whilst delivering target based training. You will need the confidence and ability to train groups, maintain discipline and inspire learning in a fun and dynamic environment. 

The role may also see you delivering various other road safety education initiatives such as pedestrian training, Independent Travel Training and classroom based workshops.

It is important to note that this is a casual post and work does fluctuate throughout the year and there is no guarantee of working hours.
