This job is Temporary for up to 12 months to cover operational needs.
Kirklees Catering Service provide meals to approximately 170 schools, producing over 20,000 nutritious school lunches each day as well as catering at Extra Care Schemed Housing, Greenhead Conservatory, Town Halls and Cliffe House.
You will be working within a busy team of Business Support Officers based at Flint Street, Fartown, Huddersfield. Duties cover a wide range of administration tasks associated with HR processes such as recruitment, sickness and attendance management. It is a busy working environment with staff working to very strict, reoccurring deadlines.
The team needs a Business Support Officer that is an excellent communicator, hardworking, self-motivated, very flexible and with an interest in HR. Accuracy, the ability to follow procedures, producing work to a high standard and paying attention to detail are also essential requirements.
Previous experience of administrative processes and systems, as well as excellent organisational skills are required. Previous experience of working in an HR environment would also be beneficial.
Here are some of the tasks you might perform in a typical day:
- Arranging sickness review meetings, attendance management meetings and other HR meetings
- Note taking at meetings
- Producing draft outcome letters from template documents following meetings
- Providing support to managers for other HR administrative tasks
- Providing support to managers for recruitment process tasks
- Working closely with the training team to provide support as needed
- Management of post – incoming/outgoing
- Monitor and action central mailbox
- Respond to emails, letters and telephone calls
It is essential that you have a flexible and ‘can do’ attitude, possess excellent customer care skills and good IT skills, and that you are familiar with a variety of computer packages in particular Microsoft Office and that you are able to demonstrate business and administrative skills to NVQ level 2.
