About the Role
Joining our Physical and Sensory Impairment and Personalisation commissioning team in Adult Social Care you will be focussed on delivering better outcomes for people with physical and sensory impairments and ensuring personalisation is at the core of all we do in Adult Social Care. In this role you will be working with people with lived experience of disability to coproduce and deliver an improved support offer for people who receive direct payments. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of thousands of people across Essex.
Working closely with the Commissioning Manager, this role is focused on providing support, insight and capacity to Heads of Strategic Commissioning and Policy within Adults and Children and Families, to enable the collaborative delivery of outcomes for citizens, using relevant and specific subject matter expertise.
With a range of experience across programme delivery, stakeholder management and business processes, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of commissioning activity, working collaboratively across the wider Council with stakeholders and external partners to deliver a more flexible and agile approach to delivering outcomes.
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Supporting managers to ensure that specific priorities are planned with an ability to deliver, based on capacity and capability to ensure outcomes and policies meet agreed service levels.
- Supporting specific commissioning programmes and activities that drive further continuous improvement to ensure high performing, sustainable and cost-effective services or place shaping activities.
- Collaboratively co-design solutions, drawing on good data and insight, expertise methods and approaches.
- Innovatively respond to new challenges and opportunities ensuring that risks are mitigated and managed, meeting all compliance with internal regulation.
About You
To apply, you'll need to have knowledge and experience of the commissioning cycle, together with experience in using a project methodology approach. You will need to be able to evidence experience of engaging local communities and citizens and incorporating such insights and intelligence into plans. Your approach must also be innovative, alongside a track record of delivery within timescales.
With significant experience across the commissioning cycle you will bring proven ability to develop a learning culture based on best practice, and your experience in working effectively with a range of stakeholders and partner agencies at all levels.
