About Us:

Listen to Grenfell, then shape and deliver the support that’s needed

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. This has been particularly important in dealing with the aftermath of the Grenfell tragedy and its impact on a large cohort of local people. We have worked closely with the community to develop the Grenfell Dedicated Service, which provides long-term, personalised, wraparound support to survivors and those who are bereaved.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s will not be considered for this role. We reserve the right to close this advert depending on volume of applications.

The Role:

Joining us as a Project Officer, you’ll manage your own portfolio of projects providing essential and valuable services to individuals, families and professional colleagues as they face the ongoing enquiry and journey through the recovery process. From finding accommodation to administering small grants, running community activities to setting up peer-support groups, there’s a wide range of work to be done. Consultation is critical at every step, but it’s a chance to make a real difference to this community.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

Your ability to draw together different agencies and services to meet the needs of diverse people will be vital. You’re likely to have worked in a front-facing community support or development role, in a charity, voluntary or social services setting. Skilled at building rapport and fostering relationships, you’ll need empathy and understanding allied to considerable resilience. The ability to find creative, practical ways to address a range of issues is key, and you’ll also need to be highly organised with good skills in IT and budgetary management. This is challenging work but you’ll be joining a strong, supportive team, united in a common purpose.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
