Essex County Council are currently looking for a Behaviour Advisor to join the Enhanced Social Care Support Team, an established Multidisciplinary team which includes Social Workers, Behaviour Advisors and an Occupational Therapist. The role will be working within the principles of Positive Behaviour Support across a variety of settings.
This is an extremely varied role and you will need to be able to work as part of a team, as well as being able to manage an individual case load. Key responsibilities will include:
- Completing Functional Behaviour Assessments.
- Developing Positive Behaviour Support plans that are function based.
- Completing 'service specification' reports which define the support and environmental needs of an individual.
To be successful in this role you will need to bring:
The ability to communicate with, and work alongside a wide range of people from a variety of settings (such as families, social workers, health colleague, teaching staff, care providers and advocates).
- A willingness to travel across Essex, and on occasion further afield.
- Clear decision-making skills.
- An approach to behavioural support that focuses on increasing the quality of life of the individuals we support, reduces restrictive practices and increases skills and independence.
In return you will have regular supervision with a senior member of the team, as well as peer supervision facilitated by an external Clinical Psychologist, flexibility around your working pattern, opportunities to take part in relevant CPD, such as conferences, training and webinars, access to the International Journal of PBS and access to our employee benefit scheme.
