About us

Camden is listening to everyone, including you.

We’re giving a platform to people inside and outside our community. Because, we’re not just home to the UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left ehind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

The role

This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of the Children in Need service.  This is a thriving and dynamic service which works closely with Early Help colleagues and partner agencies to ensure that the needs of children and families are met at the earliest opportunity.

We are looking for five experienced Practitioners, to join the service working alongside social work colleagues and the existing management team. You will take a pivotal role working alongside partner agencies to assess families and ensure that families receive appropriate support and protection. As well as being a versatile and agile worker, you will have strong communication, engagement and analytical skills to promote and safeguard children and their families.

In November 2017 Ofsted described social work practice in Camden as “a learning culture, well supported by the use of a systemic model of practice”. You will develop under what Ofsted described “outstanding leadership and management” in which “the leadership team have formed a dynamic, professionally fertile environment for social workers at all levels of experience to engage with children and families".

You will have the opportunity to work within the Camden model of social work, a highly praised model which has been validated by the most recent inspection process and current Camden employee’s alike. This model has created an environment in which social workers feel safe, have increased autonomy, which enables them to be innovative in their work with children and young people alongside receiving good frontline management and peer support.

We take pride in getting it right first time and as such you will have access to excellent training opportunities and support from a well-established senior management team, so you can ensure effective interventions are delivered to children and families requiring support and protection in Camden.
