As a Director Education & Skills (DCS) you’ll play a key role in building our vision of a city where every child, citizen and place matters.

Through inspiring others, you’ll identify, drive and secure opportunities to improve and transform services. You’ll work closely with other local partners that comprise Birmingham Children’s Partnership to improve the future and well-being of children and young people, including the development of work-related skills, vocational and education opportunities for all. We have high ambitions for rapid growth and sustainable progress, you will therefore need to be adaptable and constantly focused on results.

You’ll be at the heart of the Corporate Leadership Team leading and managing the portfolio of services including: Schools and education settings, Safeguarding, Admissions, vulnerable groups, SEND, Asset management, and more. Turning a strategic vision into a reality for our young people and inspiring their progress.

You’ll support the Chief Executive, Elected Members and colleagues in turning our strategic vision into real results, inspiring their progress on a regular basis, and solving complex problems.

Working collaboratively with your team, you’ll discover the best models of service delivery, which deliver brilliant outcomes and performance and a high-quality customer experience. You’ll also lead across the organisation, setting clear goals, managing performance and resources, and creating a working environment where employees will flourish.
