Essex County Council are seeking an experienced Caretaker to join a thriving primary school based in Chelmsford.

As the school Caretaker you will take overall responsibility for keeping the school buildings and grounds presentable, compliant and fit for providing a high quality education to the students.

You will be responsible for carrying out a range of caretaking duties including security and supervision of the site and related equipment, and other caretaking duties including porterage, cleaning and maintenance.

The role will begin on a temporary basis but could lead to permanent employment for the right person.

The hours will be 37 per week, Monday to Friday.

The Successful Caretaker Will Have:

  • Prior experience in general maintenance and building management.
  • Be confident dealing with third party suppliers and handle those interactions in a professional and effect manner.
  • Above all it is vital you relate well to children and interact with them and your colleagues in a positive and friendly manner.
