Carpentry Supervisor

PO2 + 7.5% – plus car user mileage

We are looking for an experienced professional to work within our Occupied Repair Team. This is a permanent position. 

  • You will be joining a dedicated established Carpentry team.
  • You will be self-motivated with the confidence to represent the Council’s interests in various forums and circumstances.

Duties will include :

  • Directly manage a team of carpentry operatives and be responsible for managing supply chain, sub-contractors and other partners when required.
  • Establishing high standards of work, safety and best practice on all works.
  • Ensure the team has a customer orientated approach, ensure best value for money is achieved in the delivery of the works. Delivering all works within agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Ensure the delivery of the Repairs Service is smooth and efficient, and action remedial works on a daily basis.

As a Supervisor you will need:

  • The successful candidate will need to have extensive experience in the carpentry industry.
  • Good observational skills
  • A sound knowledge of the construction industry, including diagnostics and materials used in the carpentry trade and general building methods and legal requirements.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and negotiating skills.
  • Good written communication, report writing and computer skills
  • The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff at all levels.

Ideally you should have carpentry related experience with a sound knowledge of the building industry and work well under pressure. You will have the skills and abilities required to deal with the challenging demands and timescales, whilst maintaining good relationships with team members. Be confident in delivering training/ tool box talks and support fellow supervisors.

Plumbing Supervisor

  • You will be self-motivated with the confidence to represent the Council’s interests in various forums and circumstances.

  • Establishing high standards of work, safety and best practice in all areas.
  • Ensure the team has a customer orientated approach, and that best value for money is achieved in the delivery of the works. Delivering all works within agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Ensure the delivery of the Repairs Service is smooth and efficient, and action remedial  / follow on works on a daily basis.

As a Supervisor you will need:

  • The successful candidate will need to have extensive experience in the plumbing industry and be able to understand and implement risk assessments and method statements.
  • Good observational skills with knowledge of health and safety requirements.
  • A sound knowledge of the reactive repairs industry, diagnostics and materials used in the plumbing trade and general building methods and legal requirements.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and negotiating skills and ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff at all levels.
  • Good written communication, report writing and computer skills.

Ideally you should have plumbing related experience with a sound knowledge of the building industry and reactive repairs sector. Have a positive attitude to working well under pressure.

Be confident in delivering training/ tool box talks and support fellow supervisors.

You will have the skills and abilities required to deal with the challenging demands and timescales, whilst maintaining good relationships with team members. All aspects of plumbing are undertaken by our current team.
