The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-profile borough that is focused on delivering the best outcomes. We are currently reducing our use of subcontractors, so we are building a talented multidisciplinary labour force, who will work across our buildings and within our residents’ homes to deliver planned works and a gold-star repair service. Predominantly dealing with residential plumbing, you will ensure our residents are all treated as customers. Working across everything from 28-floor tower blocks to double-fronted mansions, you will get to grips with the quirks of each home, striving to deliver a first-time fix that resolves the problem. You will work methodically through each challenge, making recommendations to Supervisors, and seeking their approval before varying works. Focused on ensuring performance targets are being met, you will be keen to share knowledge with other members of the team.

About You: To make the most of this exciting opportunity, you will have a minimum five years of plumbing experience. While a background in a social housing environment would be useful, it is not essential, but you must have experience of working in residents’ homes. As you will be working in partnership with a plumbing, carpentry, and electrical teams, you will have the capacity to both manage your own workload and collaborate with other colleagues to get the job done. As such you will be a team-player who has excellent communication skills, and you will be IT literate. preferably you have a knowledge of high-rise heating and water systems, and you will be able to make decisions autonomously. With the capacity to understand construction drawings and specifications, you will also have a good awareness of building regulations and compliance, plus a working knowledge of statutory legislation relating to health and safety. You’ll be keen to learn and develop through the training program and will also need a driving licence, as you will have the use of a company vehicle, plus a fuel card and be supplied a tool kit.
