Here at Enfield Council, our mission is to create a “lifetime of opportunity for our residents”. We are an ambitious Council, serving a population of over 350,000 people and this is reflected in our Council plan to deliver better and more efficient services to all who live, work, study and visit our borough.
As Director of Public Health, you’ll be the driving force behind better health and wellbeing in our Borough. You’ll target health inequalities with a relentless improvement drive. You’ll build on our excellent relationships with NHS partners and other key agencies, as well as with the people of Enfield. Together, you’ll come up with innovative solutions to deliver better health for all. You’ll also work with Public Health England to combat threats such as health hazards and infectious diseases.
You’ll be our principal adviser on health matters, but just as importantly, provide strategic leadership of the integration of public health functions and outcomes into all aspects of the Council’s work, including regeneration and economic development, through a health in all policies approach. This demanding, varied and interesting role requires a person experienced in leading the agenda to improve the health and wellbeing of residents, reducing inequalities in health outcomes and protecting local communities from public health hazards.
If you relish challenge and have the energy, enthusiasm and skills to deliver better outcomes and make a real impact, then we would like to hear from you. It’s important that you are a registered GMC, GDC or UK PHR public health specialist with significant experience in all areas of public health practice.
