Can you bring experience, transformational leadership and commitment to our new Place Services? Are you innovative and ambitious, with the background and professional knowledge to bring inspired leadership, pace, energy, excellent management skills and sector-leading solutions to the big challenges we face? If so, then this role could be for you.

The Falkirk Council area continues to transform and is one of the fastest growing areas in Scotland. In the wake of Covid, we need to focus on economic recovery, growth, investment, service transformation and the challenges of climate change as well as the delivery of excellent services to our citizens and communities. These are all crucial to Falkirk’s future.  We have recently undergone a services re-structure and have opportunities for Chief Officer roles within the new designed Place Services.

As a key member of the Falkirk Council Leadership Team you will support the Chief Executive in delivering our Council of the Future vision.  Transformation and innovation are key to our future and you will have a pivotal and leading role in achieving this.  You will provide strategic direction, vision and leadership, ensuring the effective and dynamic management and development of our Place Services, whilst still meeting our statutory obligations and championing innovation.

You will be an experienced professional with a relevant background to enable and support the transformation of our services.  You will complement our management team, bringing continuous improvement, new ways of working, and add to the Council’s achievement of delivering excellence, while maintaining efficiency in all we deliver.

As a candidate, you will excel in managing complex and strategic issues and have a successful track record in leading and managing change.  You will have financial and risk management experience in a relevant environment and have a working knowledge of the functions within the remit of this post.  A commitment to ongoing further professional development would also be expected.

Just a 30-minute drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow, Falkirk is ideally situated in the very heart of Scotland.  As an employer of choice, we offer flexible benefits and working arrangements, along with a culture which is committed to learning, improving and growing.

We are committed to building on our existing strong working practices, using local partnerships and making sure our citizens are at the heart of everything we do.  If this challenge is something you can deliver on, we’d be interested to hear from you.

Closing date for receipt of completed applications is 19th August 2021.
