The role

Are you an experienced and passionate Youth Worker looking to make a real difference to the lives of young people in Camden? As a Youth Worker, you will be responsible for engaging with young people from a diverse inner-city neighborhood to design and deliver a wide-ranging programmes of personal and social education.

Youth Early Help is part of the Integrated Youth Support Service which responds to emerging needs for young people at the earliest opportunity. The successful candidates will work within a multi-disciplinary team and our partners to deliver high quality evidence based youth work for young people.

Camden has cultivated a ‘whole family approach’ model, offering tailor made support for young people to stay safe; be healthy; succeed in education, employment and training; and to play a positive role in their community.

The role involves working after school and unsociable hours including evenings between the hours of 18:00 – 21:00, weekends and residentials.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

We are looking for an inspiring and insightful Youth Worker with demonstrable experience of direct work with young people including the delivery of group work sessions, outreach and detached work.  The ideal candidate will have proven experience of creatively engaging young people who may be at risk of engaging in harmful behaviour and/or are vulnerable. The candidate will also have proven experience of planning, delivering and evaluating programmes of work with young people.

The candidate will also have proven experience of facilitating group work sessions with young people from differing needs, interest and abilities.

Ideal candidate will have experience of facilitating programme linked with accreditation such as AQA Award Units, Community Sport leader awards, Duke of Edinburgh Award etc.

The successful candidates will be confident communicators who possess a qualification in the relevant field such as an NVQ level 3 or higher in Youth and Community Work.
