Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance, who works across the Council and CCG, we are seeking to appoint a Deputy Chief Finance Officer who will be responsible for financial leadership within the Council. As Deputy S.151 Officer, you will have responsibility for the development of the medium-term financial strategy and provide financial leadership to deliver the long-term financial strategy, optimising the efficient use of resources to support Council activities. As part of a team working across the Council, you will take a holistic approach, delivering the best outcomes for residents of Bury; maximising financial resources through a strategic approach to managing budgets, engagement of partners and suppliers, and scrutinising performance and demand in consultation with elected members.

We are looking for someone with extensive experience and understanding of local authority finance, along with organisational and strategic leadership. You will demonstrate success in working across systems and beyond organisational boundaries. With a track record of utilising resources to optimise outcomes, you will be motivated by the opportunity to make an impact, delivering value for the people of Bury.
