Job Details
Chelmsford City Council is looking for an experienced Communications Officer to work within the Marketing & Communications Team to help support the development of online and offline communications. This is a maternity cover position.
The successful candidate will help to create impactful, measurable and effective external and internal communications campaigns which highlight the vision, services, plans and achievements of the Council.
You’ll be a multimedia content creator, producing interesting, high-quality video clips, news stories and more to promote our services and get important information out to residents.
You’ll also be a key member of the media relations team, producing proactive and reactive statements and stories for local, national, trade and specialist media.
This is a varied role, working across departments ranging from parks and environmental action to development planning and civic events. Strong relationship-building skills, willingness to be flexible and think on your feet, and creativity are essential.
