Here at Chelmsford City Council we have an exciting, and we’d like to think, unique job opportunity for an experienced programme and delivery manager. We are delivering our digital transformation ambition in a big way, and we are looking for someone to help drive the programme forward.

The digital services team are developing and delivering on the council’s digital ambition. Through the implementation of new technologies and internally developed systems, we are totally reinventing the way services work and way we deliver to all our customers, both internal and external. Our programme of change will move the organisation to a single platform built on Microsoft technologies.

The post of digital programme and product delivery manager role has many facets, the main purpose of the role is to oversee the digital services project management, development, and web teams, ensuring that the council’s digital project portfolio is being delivered and kept on track. The team has two main streams of work; the digital transformation foundations – developing new functions in our Dynamics CRM platform working with services around the authority to deliver change and our digital portfolio office – Our CEO sponsored innovation workstream, delivering ideas from across the business that will deliver new and efficient ideas into the authority (using one of our core platforms – Office 365, Dynamics 365 and Technology-1 ERP).

We would love to hear from you if you are a highly-motivated, dynamic and keen individual looking to change the way the public sector works.

You will be organised and prepared to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Working across the entire council, you will oversee a host of projects in fields from car parks to theatres, HR to procurement and everything in between. The role will never be dull: an ability to adapt, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are vital.
