This post is fixed term for a 12 month period
We are looking to recruit to a Senior Accountant on a fixed term basis for 12 months within the Finance Team. This is to provide additional capacity in a number of areas.
Reporting to a Principal Accountant, your role will involve the provision of financial information, giving advice and guidance to budget holders and service managers throughout the financial cycle.
You will be expected to complete financial appraisals for capital projects with specific focus on our “Towns Fund”.
You will be assisting with the implementation of new accounting standards such as IFRS 16 and a new fixed asset register system.
You will be required to contribute to the production of the Statement of Accounts and provision of working papers for external auditors.
The successful person will come to us with extensive experience in a public sector financial management environment and must be qualified Accounting Technician or equivalent or part qualified member of a chartered accounting body.
You will be required to work from home initially.
