Our change and insight department drives our transformation. Expert teams focus on discovery, design, delivery and continuous improvement. Data, information and intelligence inform service design and agile programme and project management that shapes improved outcomes with and for Newham’s residents. Our recent restructure provides us with the capability and capacity to deliver our vision for the borough, putting people at the heart of everything we do.
Reporting to the Director of Change & Insight you will lead your teams to provide a rapid and iterative approach to insight led service design, leading to implementable change and service excellence. You will provide critical corporate capability in the Council’s approach to change, working across the entirety of the Council’s transformation programme. You will be the lead for our change framework, an open sourced resource supporting wider sector transformation.
Your reach will be organisation wide, from the redesign of approaches to both commissioning and delivery to bringing design expertise to our community wealth building agenda. The team has recently led a cross organisational review of debt in the Borough, supporting Newham citizens to make better choices about how they manage debt. Other projects underway include the development of a business support hub and a co-produced programme to set new standards for resident experience. Your work will require a range of approaches and tactics, working closely with services and HR&OD as well as partners and communities, tackling identified issues using a programme of interventions or pilots. You will lead your teams to develop an innovative, flexible, customer first culture, designing for transformational solutions and outcomes.
Succeed in this role and you will have supported the delivery of Newham’s radical new vision, championing modern approaches to service design that enable innovative change and service improvement to be delivered at pace.
You will bring extensive experience at leadership level of service design in a large, complex organisation. Your sector background is less important than your ability to evidence your contribution to a transformative agenda where insight led service design has led to change and service excellence.
