Our recent restructure provides us with the capability and capacity to deliver our vision for the borough, putting people at the heart of everything we do.
Reporting to the Director of Change & Insight, in this critical role, you will lead your teams to develop and deliver a modern performance and business intelligence function that powers our drive for change and service excellence. You will develop and oversee our performance and business intelligence framework and work collaboratively across the Newham partnership to build a high profile and trust in the Council.
This role is more than a performance monitor; you will provide delivery assurance for the Council’s transformation, supporting delivery of the Towards a Better Newham strategy. Championing an integrated approach to performance management, you will engage deeply with all services and develop new measures that capture social impact in line with our Outcomes Framework. You will also research, recommend and implement innovative technologies and tools to power our understanding of performance across the organisation.
Succeed in this role and you will have supported and enabled decision making at senior leadership level, so that policies and services are developed from a sound evidence base, meet governance and compliance standards and respond to evolving needs. You will have developed Newham’s socially conscious approach to performance management, building your own and the Council’s profile as a sector leader.
You will bring experience of delivering performance and business intelligence functions in a complex public sector environment and an ability to quickly acquire a detailed grasp of local government governance, objectives and mission. Confident and capable working with a wide range of stakeholders and decision makers, you will be able to demonstrate how your experience and expertise in performance and business intelligence has supported the design and delivery of transformational corporate goals.
