This post represents an exciting, diverse and challenging opportunity to become the new Strategic Manager for Facilities Management at Kirklees Council. You will be leading an existing team dedicated to delivering an FM service for corporate buildings and land that ensures that the Council meets its statutory and legislative requirements around land and property Health & Safety and compliance and delivers great value for money and innovation in the ways that we meet the needs of our customers and residents.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about property and land compliance and Health & Safety, someone who has a wealth of experience and knowledge in Facilities Management, preferably in a local government setting but this is not an essential requirement, and who has a track record of successfully managing and motivating a large team.
You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and great interpersonal skills. This post is a great opportunity for a strongly motivated individual with highly developed organisational and negotiation skills, who is prepared to work flexibly and as part of a team, in a high profile, demanding and political environment.

Based in Huddersfield Town Centre though currently working from home. Hybrid system of office and home working is the likely future working model. The successful candidate will be expected to travel around Kirklees as part of the remit of this role.
