Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated legal officer with a background primarily in housing law to join our litigation team.

This post is fixed term to 31 March 2022.

This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified chartered legal executive, a graduate member of the Institute of Legal Executives, an individual with a law degree or someone with experience in housing law.

You will be responsible for dealing with rent arrears possession applications on behalf of the Council. This will include preparing court applications, drafting witness statements, taking instructions from the client and also appearing before County Court judges to present such claims. You will also assist in other matters, such as disrepair claims and debt recovery.

The role also involves general assistance to Lawyers and Solicitors within the team in the running of cases before the court.

Due to the continuing COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a requirement for the post holder to work from home, and therefore you must have an aptitude for remote learning via virtual training and using standard operating procedures.
