About Us:

Build relationships that generate real change

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people at the heart of decision-making. As a Social Worker here, you’ll soon discover just how powerful this can be. Using a locality model that enables us to work with families from referral to closure, we’re investing in relationships from the very beginning and creating connections that allow us to make genuine and positive change. Put simply, you’ll have the time and resources here to improve children’s futures.

The Role:

We are looking to recruit for Social Work posts: one in the Chelsea Locality Team and one in the Health Link Team. Joining our teams of six social workers, including two advanced practitioners, a practice manager, team manager, specialist practitioner and family therapist, you’ll find yourself in an incredibly supportive environment. We’re a child safeguarding team, and our main priority is always the wellbeing of children. Everything we do keeps that focus in mind – from working with complex child protection/court cases to undertaking preventative work.

Every day is different here. You’ll take on a varied caseload including complex child protection, child in need, looked after children, adoption, care leavers and more. Our team covers areas of extreme affluence and some deprived areas, you will be challenged in different and exciting ways. But you’ll never be facing these alone – there is an excellent team ethos and you’ll be supported every step of the way.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

As well as being a qualified Social Worker, you’ll need to be an excellent communicator who is calm under pressure. Experience of working with children and families within child protection, and an excellent understanding of statutory social work will be essential. There is plenty of multi-tasking to be done, so you’ll need to be good at juggling competing demands and thinking flexibly as you adapt to changing situations.

You’ll also need to be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and to have an up-to-date Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Join us in this fascinating work, and you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays. What’s more, you can expect excellent training – we’re all systemically trained, and we offer in-house systemic training years I and II.

If you wish to have an informal conversation about the role, please contact Adrian Bucur, Team Manager on 07896985400.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s will not be considered for this role.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of suitable applicants
