Are you a highly motivated, experienced senior or principal planning officer who understands the complexities of delivering large scale and strategic development proposals? Would you like the opportunity to be at the forefront of delivering nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs)? Are you looking for a new and interesting challenge working for a highly motivated team addressing the infrastructure challenge in a significant growth area? This is new role will be demanding, yet varied and rewarding.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to be part of an established planning team at Essex County to deliver a strong, robust planning response to proposed large scale and strategic development proposals (primarily NSIPs) throughout Essex. This role will primarily manage and deal with a caseload of NSIPs but there may also be opportunity to work on some challenging and complex large scale and strategic development proposals. The role will help to ensure ECC is able to successfully influence the planning process to secure policy compliant planning decisions which deliver the correct level of developer funded infrastructure. Excellent project management, negotiation, written and communication skills are a must.
