The Post

Our Performance, Insight and Improvement service acts as a specialist resource across our Community Wellbeing Department; which encompasses Housing, Adult Social Care, Culture & Leisure and Public Health. The service is central to helping the department develop a better understanding of the challenges facing our services, to robustly monitor and improve quality, and to gain more sophisticated insight into the needs and experiences of our customers – and then ensure we utilise all of this knowledge to design and deliver lasting improvements across our services.

Your responsibility will be to undertake a range of performance management activities and data analysis to support Adult Social Care statutory and corporate performance reporting, respond to ad-hoc requests for information and build reports and insights using tools such as Business Objects, Power BI and Excel. You will be working closely with Adult Social Care team members to understand their complex data, and build and support Power BI dashboards to meet the reporting requirements.

Our team works with a range of stakeholders allowing them to develop and build specialist knowledge and have a unique opportunity to work on project initiatives and have exposure to various tools such as Power BI, Business Objects, R studio, Microsoft 365, Visio. You will lead on the practical, innovative and creative approach to develop intelligence and to measure outcome delivery and support management to drive continuous improvement.

The Person

We are looking for an individual with significant experience in data analysis and interpreting complex qualitative and quantitative data; drawing conclusions and compellingly presenting finding to suit a variety of different audiences. You will have the ability to understand complex Adult Social Care business needs or problems and be enthusiastic and creative to identify technical solutions.

You will be responsible for the automation, the design and the extraction of data to meet new reporting requirements so you must have excellent in-depth experience of working in Business Objects, Excel/VBA and Power Query.

You will be self-motivated with a desire to learn new IT skillsets, keep yourself up-to-date with the IT tools, and be excited to find new opportunities to use the technology to deliver the required outcome.
