Communications and Engagement Manager

The coronavirus pandemic has touched every aspect of the work councils do, and we're on the front line as the country recovers. Businesses need support to get back on their feet, schools have reopened for children who have been stuck at home for months, and social care services are helping a growing number of vulnerable residents. Many services will not be the same, so good communications and engagement with residents and staff are more important than ever before.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated communications professional to lead our Communications and Engagement team, taking an overview of all the team’s work and inspiring and supporting team members to deliver excellence.

You’ll have experience of working with the press, developing strategic campaigns, engaging hard-to-reach audiences and the effective use of all communications channels. You’ll proactively look for ways to improve our service and deliver innovative solutions. And you’ll be comfortable building relationships with teams and individuals at all levels of the Council.

We offer a work environment which is stimulating, fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high-profile organisation.

From the world-famous sights of Greenwich town centre in the west to Thamesmead in the east and from Greenwich Peninsula in the north to Eltham in the south, our communities are diverse. We want our workforce to reflect and respect this diversity and bring richness, productivity and innovation.

If you’re ready to be part of our exciting journey, please apply now, or contact us to discuss the job.
