We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to determine the capital maintenance and minor project requirements across both the core and school's estate, developing the brief, engaging with designers and contractors throughout to ensure compliance with specifications, statutory requirements and best practice.

You will be responsible for collecting and maintaining condition data, providing advice during the pre-tender period, on the implications of any Value Engineering and/or specification decisions and reviewing contractor's operational compliance with H&S legislation and KPI's, highlighting and addressing instances of non-compliance through the appropriate channels.

Working in collaboration with the facilities manager you will be responsible for initial assessment of bids for emergency reactive works (RMAs), making recommendations where appropriate and delivering detailed inspections prior to practical or sectional completion

About you

Educated to degree level in Building Surveying or a similar will you have successfully performed in a similar role, delivering programmes of projects across a broad portfolio of buildings, using your analytical and problem-solving skills.

You will bring with you a deep and practical understanding of current engineering standards, statutory provisions, building regulations, construction contract principles, processes and procedures, with experience of working within a political environment with knowledge of a public sector setting and involvement in a large, complex environment

You will have experience of working with a diverse range of individuals at varying levels, engaging with them, finding ways to overcome obstacles, whilst also highlighting your strong leadership and behavioural skills, with the ability to influence and motivate professional staff, building diverse teams, to achieve shared objectives.
