An excellent opportunity is available to join our friendly and busy HR team at Chelmsford City Council. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wishes to gain experience or start a career within the HR function.
The successful applicant will support us in delivering a high-quality service to the Council's managers, employees, and external customers. Responsibilities will involve working both independently and as part of a team to carry out administrative tasks relating to recruitment, training and payroll. Day to day tasks include, but are not limited to, dealing with and responding to queries from both internal and external customers, supporting various stages of recruitment lifecycle including advertising of roles, checking and inputting data and handling the administration of in-house training courses.
The successful applicant must have a keen interest in HR. Experience of delivering high quality administrative support would be an advantage, however more important are strong organisational skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to work accurately to tight deadlines, these being essential to the role.
Experience of using a wide range of computer packages including Word, Excel and Outlook and use of electronic databases is also essential to the role.
We are looking for the successful applicant to work 28.75 hours per week, preferably worked Monday to Friday.
