Shropshire has a new & exciting proposition, here’s a snapshot!

Shropshire is the second largest inland county and one of the most rural places in the UK with some 325,000 residents. Its population and economy is centred on the historic county town of Shrewsbury it is brimming with prospects, positivity, and pride.
It is a place where culture and heritage meet innovation and modernity, where people thrive and businesses flourish.

Shropshire Council is keen to reposition education and learning and recognises its crucial role in recovery from the Pandemic.
We are seeking an experienced leader to manage a broad portfolio within the Education and Achievement Directorate. You will have an understanding of schools and school improvement gained at local or national level including the SEND agenda.

We want to ensure that our children and young people can reach their full potential through good schools, effective SEN, early years and post 16 provision. This is an exciting new position which provides a real opportunity to shape the role setting out a new vision for education in Shropshire.

Reporting to the Executive Director of People, you will be a key member of the directorate's newly appointed senior leadership team and as an integral part of this you will be expected to engage across the wider strategic development of the Council and its priorities.
