Beside the sea. Beyond expectations.

This is a truly fantastic opportunity to join a large newly formed unitary Council. We are a fast-paced organisation with an exciting change programme well underway, a lot has already been achieved but our ambitions to modernise and innovate continue.

At Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council we want to create a world-class place of aspiration where plans are created, ambitions are achieved, vibrant communities with an outstanding quality of life and where everyone plays an active role. A place that continues to compete on an international stage – a place that rivals the iconic coastal economies elsewhere in Europe and further afield. We already have a beautiful place, and we’re looking for a new Chief Operating Officer that will work to deliver services and keep it that way.

As Chief Operating Officer, you will oversee all of our in-house place-based services, we want someone who is able to identify opportunities and work in a solution-focused way. This is a diverse role, covering a wide range of services including but not limited to environment and streetscene, parking, planning, waste, community safety, and housing services. The breadth of this role will require a thoroughly strategic operations manager, the portfolio is broad and we need someone with a track record of delivering a diverse set of services at scale.

This is a visible role which will play an important part in our community engagement, you will need to bring political nous and experience of working in a similar operating environment. It will be important for you to be able to translate our long-term vision and strategy into operational delivery and play a strategic role in our transformation journey.

If you want to be part of creating a modern, vibrant place with outstanding quality of life, and possess excellent, proven leadership skills, a strong corporate approach and expert knowledge of delivering a wide range of operational services then please contact Rob Naylor on 07922 417550 or Ben Cox on 07809 374692.
