Job Details

Camden is listening to everyone, including you.

We’re giving a platform to people inside and outside our community. Because, we’re not just home to the UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

The Temporary Accommodation Group comprises a number of teams which together provide a comprehensive housing management, procurement and support service to some of the most vulnerable clients in the borough, including Camden’s clients living outside the borough. The department manages a range of accommodation which includes leased and owned hostels, special schemes for people with learning or physical disabilities and gypsy & travellers sites. This includes the responsibility for the management of properties that are subject to interim management orders. They are responsible for inspecting newly procured and existing accommodation provided by external providers and are responsible for ensuring that the accommodation that is managed internally and by external providers meets all the relevant statutory requirements.

The main objective for the post holder is to carry out inspections of properties including in-house managed schemes to assess premises suitability for households in housing need. The successful candidates will provide technical support and advice to internal teams and service users on property related matters. The ideal candidates will be adept at fostering effective relationships with third party managing agents, agree appropriate remedial action or other resolutions to avoid service users’ homes falling in to disrepair.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
