Are you looking for a new challenge ……
Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
At Brent, we have an established specialist single homelessness service to assist single individuals facing homelessness. The team is now looking to expand and grow further having recently secured Government funding to assist low needs ex-offenders into suitable accommodation.
You will work with ex-offenders who require a multi-disciplinary approach to identify and secure suitable pathway into accommodation to reduce re-offending. This role will involve working closely with prison services, probations teams, private sector landlords, statutory and voluntary agencies as well as the individual.
This is a fast paced and dynamic service. We recognise housing solutions are not the same for everyone. Problem solving and working holistically with this client group is a must in this exciting role.
We are seeking proactive, outcome focused people with the ability to communicate with residents and partners, develop effective partnerships, embrace change and develop professionally.
You should have an understanding of homelessness legislation, and an ability to learn legislation quickly with training, coupled with a strong interest in homelessness and a desire to work with vulnerable single homeless people.
A people focused person, you will be passionate about good customer service and take pride in delivering an excellent service. You need to be able to work proactively, be highly motivated, ambitious and ready for a new challenge.
