The Asset Management and Maintenance service is responsible for providing a responsive and cyclical maintenance service to around 27,000 council house properties. We are recruiting Bricklayers and Carpenters trade employees, who are multi skilled and able to complete jobs in their chosen trade and associated work. The successful applicant will work as part of a team of Multi-skill employees, to deliver a customer focused, value for money repairs and maintenance service, ensuring the job is completed right first time.
You will be expected to demonstrate:

Bricklayer – The successful applicant will be expected to undertake a full range of bricklaying repairs, maintenance and installation works: Examples such as but not limited to - Paving slabs, Steps and Fillets. Brickwork to out buildings and chimneys. Pointing work. Internal / external walls including garden/boundary walls and pillars. Builders openings for Gas appliances etc.
Carpenter – The successful applicant will be expected to undertake a full range of Carpentry repairs, maintenance and installation works: Examples such as but not limited to - Kitchen cupboards & worktops. Floor / ceiling joists and boarding. Structural roofing timbers. Repairs & installation of all types of doors, windows, composite items and associated work including frames, linings, architraves, skirtings, mouldings, etc.
The Successful post holder must possess: -
- NVQ level 2 in either Bricklaying or Carpentry
- Full Driving License
- Relevant experience to complete the job at first visit
- At least 2 years’ experience in their chosen trade
Please note that qualifications listed as a requirement must be produced at interview should you be invited to attend.
