Royal Greenwich Children's Services is an exciting place to work right now. Join us as we create a new service focussed on driving continuous improvement and innovation for our services to children, young people and families.

We are changing the way we work to ensure that we are best placed to deliver on the priorities of children, young people, families and all our residents. In order that we are best placed to meet the challenges ahead and capitalise on the many opportunities, a new service area has been created to support senior leaders across Children's Services deliver projects, programmes and drive innovation.

We are now looking for 2 Development and Sustainability Officers who will manage projects and programmes with and on behalf of leaders across the directorate.

You will be joining a values driven Children's Services directorate which is 'Good' and committed to building brilliant outcomes in a new and evolving service. You will help establish our new service that aims to contribute to improvement across Children's Services and take us to the next level as we continue to work to ensure that every child and family receives an outstanding service.

Not only will you make a significant difference to Royal Greenwich Children's Services and the wider Local Authority, you will help drive improvement which will have tangible and long lasting impact on children, young people and families right across Royal Greenwich.

You will bring the skills and abilities to help manage complex change, the ability to work with a range of colleagues, stakeholders as well as children, young people and families and support service development, continuous improvement and innovation. We in turn will offer you opportunities for professional development, help you develop your skills in working cross-directorate and provide you with opportunities to get involved and drive exciting projects.

You will have knowledge of project and programme management methodologies and the skills and abilities to put this into practice including high level organisation and the ability to manage a portfolio of projects. Alongside this, you will be an excellent problem solver and always solution focussed with the ability to challenge the status-quo and provide professional support and challenge to leaders and managers.

Children's Services prides itself of being a learning organisation and seeks to actively contribute to the council's organisational learning through ensuring best practice and service development whilst retaining a clear focus upon positive outcomes for children, young people and families across the borough.
