Due to the pending retirement of the current post holder, we are looking for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic person to manage our Network Management and Streetworks teams.
You will be qualified to Incorporated Engineer level or equivalent in Civil Engineering (or other appropriate discipline) or Substantial experience in the field of Highway Engineering and you must have detailed knowledge/experience of all aspects of highway maintenance.
You will take day to day responsibility across a range of major functions in the management and maintenance of the Highway Network. These functions will include the formulation and delivery of “needs Assessed” programmes of engineering Capital and maintenance work in accordance with budget provision and forecasts, the continued development of the Authority’s Highway Asset Management Plan, regular liaison with the public and elected Members, provision of expert advice and evidence (when required) with respect to the road surface condition and procurement of work from internal and external service providers.
Effective communication both verbally and in writing is essential for this post and applicants will be expected to travel extensively throughout the County Borough.
