Job Details

Chelmsford City Theatres are dedicated to delivering incredible visitor experiences, through an ambitious programme of co-productions, talent development, outreach and outdoor events.

As we head towards a busy pantomime season, we are looking to recruit Casual Senior Hosts to work in a dynamic team, responsible for delivering a unique customer experience to all visitors to Chelmsford City Theatres and Events.

Working in a highly creative environment, Senior Hosts will ensure the smooth running of performances taking place — paying particular attention to the comfort, safety, enjoyment and care of visitors.

This varied role involves taking responsibility for the front of house team on duty, welcoming customers into the theatre and outdoor events, being a point of information, supporting the purchase of tickets, merchandise and serving refreshments.

Candidates must have an excellent eye for detail, a passion for delivering first class customer service and a keen interest in Theatre and/or the Arts.

If you are keen to ignite a passion for Chelmsford and want to help shape its future as a great place to live and work, whilst also enhancing the Theatre’s profile as a visitor destination, then apply today.

The successful applicants will be required to work on a casual basis which will include late evenings, bank holidays and the Christmas and New Year period; applicants must be flexible and reliable.

Chelmsford City Council is committed to safeguarding vulnerable groups and expects all employees to share this commitment and have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services. The Council's Safer Recruitment process contains pre-employment vetting which includes safeguarding training, obtaining references and ensuring compliance with Disclosure and Barring Service process.
