Tewkesbury Borough Council is an ambitious authority; the fastest growing district outside London in 2019, with two Garden Communities, along with a tri-council Joint Core Strategy. The borough is a vibrant and successful area of north Gloucestershire and faces the challenge of maximising the benefits of significant growth while enhancing the quality of life in our market towns and villages and retaining our beautiful landscape.

With an exceptional built and natural environment, the Borough contains a rich diversity of areas including large parts of the Cotswold A.O.N.B and Severn Vale, 14 conservation areas, some 1800 listed assets and the historic market towns of Tewkesbury and Winchcombe.

Within this stunning environment, Tewkesbury is responsible for delivering much of the planned growth within the area arising from the adopted Joint Core Strategy for Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury.

In this exciting context, a rare opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious planner to become our next Development Management Manager and provide exceptional leadership and operational management to the Development Management team. You will an experienced planner and manager, with a creative and engaging approach to Development Management and a proven record of delivering excellence, continuously improving services, and successfully collaborating with colleagues, members and partners. You will be able to deliver on our council’s ambitious plans and lead the Development Management team forwards. In return we can offer you an interesting role with a high degree of autonomy and involvement with career-building and high-profile projects within a friendly team. Our council also offers a variety of benefits, including a range of flexible working options.

Join us and make a real difference, by helping to deliver high quality new developments for our new and existing communities in Tewkesbury Borough, where a good quality of life is open to all.
