The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

Bradford is currently on a journey of change as we deliver the ambitious outcomes of our Council Plan.  To support us, we are looking for a highly motivated and self starting Finance Business Advisor who will play an important role in ensuring we remain a well-run Council, using all our resources wisely to deliver priorities.

Our Business Advisor cohort, based on the business partnering model, assist Finance in exercising its control function whilst acting as trusted advisor to the functions they support.

The Business Advisor role we are seeking to recruit to will be in the Financial Accounting Team, and the successful candidate will require strong creative, organisational and technical accounting skills, and will play a major role in overseeing the year end accounting processes, and production of the Statement of Accounts.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a strong track record of success in managing relationships, demonstrating resilience and providing excellent financial advice.  Local Government experience, whilst preferential, is not essential.

If you’re seeking an interesting and challenging role that will offer many development opportunities, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Andrew Cross on 07870 386523 for further information.
