Employment Programme Manager (2-year Fixed Term Contract)

Are you experienced in the operational management of frontline services and / or employment related programmes, that support people to actively participate in the labour market or access services? Can you ensure a high-quality service is provided through the effective delivery of GLLaB’s externally funded programmes? If this sounds like you, an exciting opportunity has arisen with Greenwich Local Labour & Business (GLLaB) service for an Employment Programmes Manager.

GLLaB was set up in 1996 and is the Council’s employment and job brokerage service. It is the mechanism which links local people to employment and training opportunities. For over 20 years, GLLaB has established itself as one of the leading local labour schemes in the country. GLLaB delivers several Employment and skills support Programmes aimed at supporting residents of the Borough into sustainable employment.

The Job

We are looking for an Employment Programmes Manager that can effectively manage a team delivering employment support programmes, with:

Extensive experience of managing externally funded payment-by-results, employment and skills programmes or working within a similar target driven environment.

A strong culture of performance management including undertaking contract and monitoring reviews, design and implementation of performance improvement plans and facilitating compliance audits.

Experience of engaging with a range of partners and stakeholders to ensure integrated working across services, which provides a wraparound service in addressing customer barriers.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:

Ability to deliver programmes that support a wide range of customer groups, including those with multiple barriers to work.

Knowledge of supporting and developing teams to manage complex caseloads, to enable progression into training and sustainable employment.

Ability to prepare and present performance reports on service areas to senior management and external funders.
